The Big Sleeping Game

on

While Brian was off at Battle Axe Sharpening class, the boys all got to pile into bed with me. Here’s how it went down.

How the boys slept

I will decode this for you, since it is every bit as action-packed as it looks. The “M” is for Mom. Numbers 1,2 and 3 are for Ian, Isaac and Elijah, respectively. In Red, are the starting positions – Elijah to my Right, then Ian and Isaac. Everyone falls asleep watching a show about how guns are made. My nursling begins his leapfrogging from side to side of me (not shown is a small back support pillow that must flop to the opposite side when Elijah crawls over), and that continues for an unknown, but not inconsequential number of flops through the night. Feeling squished, I get up at some point and put Isaac in his bed nearby and shove Ian over. Unbeknownst to me, Isaac wakes up and discovers he’s in the wrong bed and rectifies the situation by planting himself at my recently-vacated Right side. That must have caused us to crowd Ian, because, at another mystery time, he gets up and goes to the other side of the bed, near Isaac. Near sunrise, Isaac disapproves of being the star of this sandwich and takes himself back to his bed for a while, before getting up for the day. I woke up needing a nap.

Wow! I totally understood all that. I am amazed that you could write it out in an understandable way. I had so many things I wanted to tell about like that when mine were little… but I could never have it make sense for anyone else. Hope you get your nap.
