Clinic Tour and Tortillas

Today our friend Donna gave the boys a tour of the urgent care center where she works. It was a slow day, so there weren’t really any patients around. The boys got to see how vitals are taken, and got their height and weight and vision checked. They got to see treatment rooms and the…

Art Felt Words

I took the boys to see Big Hero 6 yesterday, and it’s Isaac’s new favorite movie. He’s drawn a really cute Christmas scene with Baymax. The other guys loved it too and say we need to own it so we don’t have to go to the theater more to see it. I agree it was…

I Mustache You to Read a Book

It’s amazing how relaxed my brain feels when the house is clean. Today I finally gave each boy time to “connect” with me on Minecraft. They’ve been begging me for days. Ian already had my world set up with beds for everyone, chests to store or stuff, signs and some tools. The boys read a…

It Adds Up to a Good Day

Yesterday marked the first day, since we graduated from cheese rolls to soft-taco-no-lettuce, that Isaac ordered something new at Taco Bell. We are now in the era of the Doritos Locos Taco. While out on our errands, we discovered that Office Depot is moving and they are deeply discounting everything. The boys got excited about…

A Stud in the Stacks

The good:  For breakfast, I made nomulous goat’s milk grits with sauteed onions & peppers & diced jalepenos (and a smidgin of Pepper Jack), coconut flour-dusted potatoes with sauteed onions and turkey sausage. For lunch I made lettuce wraps with sauteed (in avocado and sesame oils) portobello mushrooms, onions, broccoli slaw, quinoa and cashews. I…

Vacay Shunning Junk: How My Thighs Survived the Trip

I think I’m still on Island Time. Two weeks ago I was packing for our trip to Ocracoke Island to attend my cousin’s wedding. Now (seemingly five minutes later) I’m packing us up to tag along with Brian on his business trip. But, first trips first. We took 2 days to get to the island…

Venus, Not Zucchini

The other day, Isaac took interest in my squat little “Treasures of the Musee D’Orsay” book. It’s full of pictures of paintings, and fits nicely in little hands. He selected it for his bedtime “story” the other night. He had it open to page 62, and was interested in reading only that page.  He told…

April Recipe

Mix all ingredients, except crackers and butter. Scoop into small casserole dish. Mix crackers and butter in quart-sized baggie. Top casserole with crackers. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.

The Fun “1”

Our baby boy has graduated into toddlerhood. Elijah had his first birthday last Friday. Brian went to work for the first time that week, since we had been iced in. Most places were closed. People were ice skating and skiing on the streets of downtown Atlanta. The Tuesday before was supposed to have been Elijah’s…

Ooooh. Ahhhhh. Yeah, You Might Want to Just Ignore This One.

I think I might dance and giggle. OF COURSE there was a Facebook app that lists a history of my status updates, and now I have brought them here, only slightly edited. To overwhelm your mind. To keep them as mine. ALL MINE. Woah-ha-ha-haaa! Amy If you’re happy and you owe it, hug a Vet!…
